On graduation day, then Harvard President Derek Bok implored us to "make the arts our first avocation". Thankfully, I ignored that rather idiotic advice, and made it my vocation. Everything I learned about music, I learned in spite of the official part of college, and instead gained it through all of the extracurriculars. It was good to have to fight to do something that I love. It made me lstronger and even more determined.
